Terms of use.

The terms for using getwake.co and its docs.

Last updated October 30, 2026

These terms apply to getwake.co and its docs (“the site”), run by Wake Technologies Inc., a company based in Seattle, Washington (“Wake,” “we” and “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you agree to them for that organization too.

The open source recorder

Wake’s open source recorder, and the docs the site reproduces from its repository, are licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. That license governs your use of them, and nothing in these terms limits what it allows.

Wake Platform

These terms don’t offer Wake Platform or any other service. If we offer one, it will come with an agreement of its own.

Using the site

You’re welcome to read, link to and share the site. Please don’t:

  • use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • try to disrupt or overload it, or to get unauthorized access to it or the systems behind it, except for security research done under our vulnerability disclosure policy;
  • scrape or copy it in a way that puts a burden on it; or
  • suggest that Wake endorses you or your work when it doesn’t.

Our content and our name

Apart from the open source docs and material that belongs to others, the site’s content and design belong to Wake. “Wake” and the Wake logo are our marks. Please don’t use them in a way that could confuse people about who you are, or about whether we’re involved.

Other companies’ names and marks on the site, and the incidents and papers it cites, belong to their owners. Their appearance on the site doesn’t mean they endorse Wake, or that Wake endorses them.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely, without owing you anything for them.

Other websites

The site links to websites we don’t control, such as GitHub and the sources it cites. We’re not responsible for their content or practices.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep it accurate, but we make no warranties about it, express or implied, including that it’s accurate, complete, always available or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing on it is legal, compliance or security advice for your situation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Wake won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to US $100. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Indemnity

If your misuse of the site, or your breach of these terms, leads to a claim against Wake, you’ll cover the reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and it applies from then on. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Before bringing a claim, please write to us at legal@getwake.co, so we can try to resolve it informally. If we can’t, any dispute will be decided by the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer, you keep any protections that the law where you live gives you and that can’t be waived.

General

If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part, we haven’t waived it. You can’t transfer these terms without our consent, but we can transfer them to a successor. These terms are the whole agreement between you and Wake about the site.
